Review of Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) by Russell G — 24 Jan 2012
It gets a little down or mushy at times but most of the movie keeps you laughing and is a decisive comedy and less a romantic-comedy. What makes the movie is the strong cast, which is full of talented funny people including: Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Kristen Bell, Paul Rudd, Bill Hader, Jack McBrayer, Jonah Hill and several others.
All of these great cast members made for several memorable characters. Even the small role characters are good and every seen is enriched as the laughs come from so many directions and deliveries. I loved how the movie ends with Bill Hader and Jason Segel performing in a lovable Dracula musical with puppets.
I would actually like to see this as a full length feature or play in its own right. The love story is not too cute nor is it heavy and full of melodrama, it is a just a good comedy and that is a good thing.
