Review of Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) by Jordan V — 11 Jun 2012
This was the film that made me fall in love with Jason Segel movies. His script if very honest and touching that has some hilarious moments along with some very heart-jerking bits of drama. The visuals are easy on the eyes (except for a few scenes of loose Jason skin.
..) and all acting is pretty spot on. Russel Brand is my personal favorite, actually using a lot of improv with fantastic and absolutely funny and awesome results. I do have a few issues with it. The backdrops can look really fake for some reason, even though it was actually filmed in Hawaii, and it creates an unbelivability to some important scenes.
While the film's very funny, there are some hit-and-misses, and some comedy feels too inappropriate and over-the-top to be funny, but that's just my opinion. This is a great romantic comedy that has plenty to offer to guys and girls alike, so check it out!
