Review of Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) by Dustin W — 29 Oct 2012
Had somewhat neutral thoughts and expectations on this movie but was actually a bit surprised at just how funny it was. It mixes good natural humor that comes out of the situation with good old fashioned just stupid comedy that only an Apatow production brings nowdays.
The script was very good and some of the scenes were just downright hiliarious overall. Not a lot of periods of sustained laughter, but enough times when you just burst into a hard laugh, which makes up for it.
The only thing that bothered me a little was the random flashbacks that seemed to just appear like a Family Guy episode. They worked for the story, but interrupted the flow for me. Overall, a good movie to see in theaters in the first few weeks so you get that big crowd laughing atmosphere.
