Review of Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) by Tracy A — 29 Dec 2012
One of the things I found most fascinating about Forgetting Sarah Marshall was that it was like if Trading Places was a romatic comedy. It cleverly manipulates it's story with A plot and a subplot that go in opposite directions and is properly functioning as a comedic piece.
Whats also satisfying is that the comedic man from How I Met your mother is in the lead and he does a hilarious great job, and puts in enough effort to the extent that he did a full frontal nude scene, and it was tastefully hilarious. He also did an excellent job writing Forgetting Sarah Marshall and surely has a long career ahead.
Supporting him is the hilarious Mila Kunis stepping out into an agressively-sweet character that is impossible to dislike or not laugh at.
Kristen Bell also manages to add good dramaa to the film as the titular Sarah Marshall and manages to play a bitch who you almost side with but laugh at the misfortunes of, as well as adding good humour.
Also, Russell Brand was hilarious as the same character all over again and not only has you laughing your ass off, he even made some good music for the soundtrack.
Lastly, a touch of Jonah Hill adds that comedic level of awkwardness to the film and is enjoyable hilarious.
The script to Forgetting Sarah Marshall is very clever and turns a great balance of Romantic Comedy and Raunchy Comedy between the film's lines and makes it enjoyable for audiences of all kinds, Men and Women alike.
Honestly, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is fresh and clever and just a very enjoyable and colourful comedy with a display of fresh young comedians.
