Review of Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) by Kunal S — 13 Dec 2011
Jason Segal successfully makes the leap to leading-man in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" while Kristen Bell continues to provide her usual girl-next-door hotness. Mila Kunis too, who generally annoyed me prior to this movie thanks to "That 70's Show" and her voiceover work as Meg in "Family Guy", proves that not only is she really, really gorgeous but a fine actress as well.
If I were to compare this movie to other Apatow associated films, scene for scene, I'd say it's funnier than "Knocked Up" and "Superbad" but not quite as hilarious as "40- Year Old Virgin". Still, for all the great jokes, the overall narrative suffers a bit and seems disjointed throughout. Particularly the first and last act feel oddly paced. Otherwise another solid, raunchy homerun from the Apatow factory.
