The idea of forever love and time travel is always fascinating and promising. And indeed, the emotions have developed especially after Jamie Lee Curtis showed up. But the uneven depiction of Mel Gibson's fate just blows everything away.
The dream-alike ending may resemble the Frank Capra ultra-optimism, but it just leaves me something more to be satisfied.
