Review of Forever Strong (2008) by Stephanie D — 01 Feb 2010
I've got no respect for people who want to make movies in a country where Rugby isn't even a top 10 sport. Seriously America? You could of done better making a Gridiron movie and yeah okay I'm probably being a bit too harsh with the 20% and a lot of people may not agree with me but I'll try to reason with you here.
Rugby is a sport that's mainly played by Europeans, New Zealanders, Pacific Islanders, Australians and South Africans not to forget The odd Pumas now and then. But it's just a movie that would of been better if they just brang this sort of story line into a New Zealander type situation because they used the Haka.
It's their war dance let the people who invented it and live using it before important games to use it. Although they have got one part of the game right, drinking is a large part in today's game don't look any further than sponsorship or any New Zealand High School after match function and you'll see the lads drinking it up.
I honestly think that this movie or similar plot rewritten and re-shot in the very distant future has enormous potential to do well. But right now I feel like I've justified the 20%.
