Review of Foreign Correspondent (1940) by Dave R — 07 Aug 2010
The story centers on a new york crime reporter who gets sent to europe on the eve of WW2. upon his arrival he is promptly caught up in a web of deceit and conspiracy - but also love.
Hitchcock's 2nd hollywood film suffers from the same deficiency his earlier film "the man who knew too much" suffers - lots of foreign intrigue but you don't really know why - it's never explained what exactly was going on. there are some good sequences but overall the film suffers from a weak lead actor and a cloudy plot.
