Review of Foreign Correspondent (1940) by Steve G — 04 Mar 2018
Starts off slow, but once it gets going, it's riveting. Though, they fall in love too quickly. Laraine Day is great, but goodness, that transatlantic accent is cringeworthy. Man, Hitch knew how to tell stories. George Sanders is the biggest a-hole in film history. But why is the secret clause so important to the enemy? Need to know more about this. Saunders is kind of a good guy?! This is his best role! Her getting upset about him wanting an extra room makes no sense, though. Not the most realistic plane attack ever.
I didn't quite get the part of her father fighting for his country his way.
Who told better stories than Hitchcock? It makes me happy to realize that there are still so many more Hitch movies I've yet to see, it could last me a lifetime.
