Review of Forbidden Zone (1982) by Jack G — 30 Aug 2008
Hunter S. Thompson once said "It never got weird enough for me." All respect to the late-great doctor, but he clearly never saw this. This is about as weird as it gets, a kind of thriving, crazed but deliriously funny piece that sometimes is a take-off on obscure 1920s/30s animation, and other times is just... whaaaaat?
Watch if only for the frog dude and Danny Elfman (his brother directed) as Satan singing a variation on Minnie the Moocher - IN HELL!
