Review of Forbidden Planet (1956) by Trisha W — 14 Aug 2008
For an old Sci-Fi film, I was very impressed. This movie was actually of great quality and was not something that I was loathing the whole way through. The film had a great story line. It took a bit to get into, but then it did a good job of not rushing through the story - it kept consistent with the time it took to properly tell it.
The acting wasn't bad, in fact given it was a sci-fi film, and an old one at that, I was impressed. Also, the visuals were better than I anticipated. The only real flaw was the armor windows. But the film definitely grasped my attention and was worth the watch, especially since I got my picture taken with Robby.
My only real gripe was that the movie poster had Robby carrying Altera, which didn't occur in the movie. But not biggie.
