Absolutely heartbreaking. You are shocked within the first minutes, and continue to be shocked throughout. Odd twists of humour make this a somewhat uncomfortable film at times, but it is moving nonetheless.
The child actors (especially Brigitte Fossey as Paulette) are amazing.
