Review of Forbidden games (2015) by Dannielle A — 26 Nov 2009
Wow. This is powerful. One of the very, very, very, very best movies I've ever seen, and the two kids (Paulette in particular) are amazing. Exceptional writing and direction. Wrenching, devastating.
Even more than one of the best movies ever made about war, it's one of the best movies ever made about life, about how we attach significance to things, about how we form connections and are torn apart and don't understand each other or the gravity of our actions.
Beautiful classical guitar music too (particularly the well-known "Romance"). If you're going to see twenty movies before you die, you might well make "Forbidden Games" one of them.
