Review of For Your Eyes Only (1981) by Jeff Z — 16 Jan 2009
The first half of this film is a terrible typical Roger Moore jokey Bond movie. But then all of a sudden in the second half they get serious (when Julian Glover points out Topel at dinner) and all of a sudden they're doing an early Connery Bond.
It suddenly gets a hard edge and the jokes melt away like Lynn-Holly Johnson's clothes. But then out of nowhere a big gaggy coda appears on the end involving Margaret Thatcher and her husband. A film with a definite split personality.
