Review of For Your Eyes Only (1981) by Troy F — 26 Jul 2012
After the very gimmicky "Moonraker" in '79 the Bond series took a more serious and suspenseful turn and while being slightly better than the previously mentioned, is only passable entertainment at best.
The feel and mood is right but the film is contrived and uses boring and mundane material and the script takes no initiative of it's own. Roger Moore puts in another decent performance, quite contrasting to his performance in "Moonraker" which was laid back and satirical.
In my opinion this is another of the lesser Bond films.
