Review of For Your Eyes Only (1981) by James S — 20 Oct 2017
From the beginning of the movie, one could see that this was a different James Bond...the best that Roger Moore had to offer in his series of Bond flix. His character showed an actual interest, caring, regret & impatience (the graveside scene to open the movie), caring.
..etc. This film also breaks the mold of the previous Moore/Bond flix. The ending with the set going boom...gone. In it is true drama...from a personal point of view from the characters to a national point of view (the ATAX).
This movie also had some spectacular stunts...the climbing of the mountain to the monistary, for instance. In a way, it was a throw-back to the Bond films of the 60's, and the first Bond that could have been played equally as well by either Connery or Moore.
