Review of For Your Eyes Only (1981) by Joseph V — 14 Nov 2008
5th Favorite Bond Film.
My favorite of Roger Moore's Bond films. The only thing I don't like about this film is the opening sequence, but luckily it doesn't really count because it has nothing to do with the plot at hand :-).
Carole Bouquet kicks ass as Melina Havelock and is a force to be reckoned with. There's a little bit in here that tones down the darkness of revenge that you see in "Quantum of Solace," but it's expected for the audience of the time. Very enjoyable storyline and action sequences, Lynn-Holly Johnson is too much as Bebe.
If you're gonna see one of Roger Moore's Bond films, see this one after you see "The Spy Who Loved Me" or "Live and Let Die".
