Review of For Your Consideration (2006) by Mike G — 14 Dec 2010
Christopher Guest's ultra-dry approach to making movies finally catches up with him in my opinion. There's just not enough juice! Guffman, Best in Show and Mighty Wind seem to be in another universe from this one and the clique just doesn't get enough funny lines to make it worth the effort.
It's pretty boring pseudo-inside-Hollywood stuff for the most part although Katherine O'Hara is positively creepy as the almost-was actor Marilyn Hack (yuck yuck). Anyways, Guest is a pretty funny guy and I like his work, but he sort of strikes out with this one as much as his awful actors, bad agents and insipid producers do ad nauseaum.
