Review of For the Bible Tells Me So (2007) by Ee-Wei G — 05 Jun 2007

I saw this recently at the Seattle International Film Festival and it was absolutely stunning. The movie probes into the church and shows how they have used bible passages (out of context) to vilify homosexuals. However, the most moving part of the movie is more about the interactions within the families of homosexuals. The coming out stories are heart-wrenching and brought most of the people in the theater to tears. The production quality of the film is excellent and exceeds most documentaries that I have seen.

The film has recently picked up a distribution deal and will be showing in selected markets in October 2007. This is a film that everyone should see, especially those who might have a negative view on homosexuality.
