Review of For the Bible Tells Me So (2007) by Stasi M — 03 Mar 2008
Though not a perfect film and not without bias, this documentary approaches the subject of Christian families with a GLBT member in a very sensitive and moving way. The families are the highlight; the theology is a bit too reliant on experts "saying so" (instead of the Bible "saying so") and there's a lack of middle-conservative opinion (that is, from people who are not Biblical literalists, do not hate gays, but still believe gay sex is sinful - many such people exist).
But overall I found it extremely moving and it's an important film to start conversations and open our eyes to our neighbors (or our own families).
