Review of For the Bible Tells Me So (2007) by Deana P — 03 Mar 2013
This documentary places the organized church in its cross hairs and delivers a deadly blow to anyone who oppresses a people based on what they assume the Bible to say. As those who are educated about this magnificent Holy Book, it requires the reader to place all scriptures in the historical context by which it was written.
God Inspired, yes! Man revised, yes! I specifically love the view on the individual families when parents of gay children are met with anger, confusion, and sadness based solely on an interpretation of the Bible over the greatest commandment the Messiah instructed: Love God above all and Love your neighbor as yourself.
The key word being love. No one, not even the Bible, says that loving others is an easy task especially when understanding another is paramount. As a proud Disciple of Jesus, I stand on our Generations civil rights cause.
Do we really want to be the 21st Century Church that follows in our brethren's footsteps that supported slavery, degradation of women, or pedophilia? I choose to love my fellow brothers and sisters like I have been loved by my Savior.
No greater love then that. Amen!
