Review of For the Bible Tells Me So (2007) by Scott C — 26 Apr 2014

Wow. Quite an intense and moving documentary. While I know there is hatred and conservatism everywhere, the American south just always seems so more intense and violent, clouded in primitive epitaphs of justification in the name of god.

I always feel sad when I watch such a film or read a like book because the very people who could benefit from it are rarely the ones who will expose themselves to it other than evangelist types who will exploit it to fill their pocket books and claim it as in instrument of evil (insert eye roll here).

Also, while it is only alluded to briefly in the film, there is a mention of stereotyping in the media. Sadly that hasn't progressed much either. These so-called progressive tv shows that even gay people have been conscripted to believing are great always portray GBLT as stereotypical.

The other 85% of people who aren't never have their stories told as they scare many people. "What do you mean they're like us?" These are the people in this film.
