Review of For the Bible Tells Me So (2007) by Craig B — 11 Oct 2010
For the Bible Tells Me So (2007) is a documentary about several conservative Christian families who re-interpret their beliefs about homosexuality after learning that one of their own family members is gay.
Because the film aims for an emotional impact, it starves its logical arguments. Subsequently, I think the movie is unlikely to persuade anybody who doesn't already believe in gay rights. As a side note, I feel that gays unfairly handicap themselves when they debate with fundamentalists about the correct interpretation of the Bible.
Why argue with the referee about the proper rules of the game when you can question whether he's even reading the right rule book?
