Review of For Colored Girls (2010) by Rocka — 07 Nov 2010
If you were fortunate enough to have seen the play, you would appreciate this movie 100 times over! The way that Perry interwove the lives and scenes (the play was mostly soliloquies!) was pure genius.
Though it (like most media) does nothing to boost the image of the black man in America, his contribution to the play and playwrite is admirable. Every woman (including Janet Jackson who seems to be reading her lines throughout the movie) deserves recognition for their acting.
