Simple. Brilliant. Beautiful.

A composite of footage and recordings of the Apollo missions, filmed by NASA and the astronauts themselves, woven together as a singular personal journey to the moon. Some of this footage is simply amazing, and plumbed from the depths of NASA's film vaults, a lot of it never seen previous to this film, and entirely new prints from the original film itself which are just impeccable given the age of the 16mm footage. See this in HD.

The only film I can think of that was a uplifting, magical, and wonderful of this that I've seen is Man on Wire, this is a similar celebration of the majesty of human desire. Really really highly recommended. It's the kind of film that, despite its utter simplicity, and the fact that much of the footage was never shot for any artistic or creative reason (most of it is for engineering and science purposes), tells a story that transcends all that, because the story itself demands it. This film will lift you through the clouds.
