FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE (1965): with the success of A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS (1964), director Sergio Leone and Clint Eastwood returned with a brilliant sequel called For A Few Dollars More. With this second instalment of Sergio Leone's the "Dollar trilogy" or "the Man with No Name trilogy", this film sees good old Clint Eastwood return to his role of the man with no name and more of that rapid fire shootouts. After finding Fistful brilliant, how could I not see this one? And personally why not, it just means more classic western shootouts and Eastwood's rugged character handing out bloody justice with a revolver.

The Plot: this time around the films plot is one of the filmmakers and isn't a complete rip-off Western remake of an Akira Kurosawa Samurai film; with Few Dollars More the plot sees the Man with no name taking up the role of a bounty killer who is on the hunt for dangerous bandit leader called Indio and his group. But for the man with no name has a rival bounty killer called Colonel Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef) is also after the same prize, so the two decide to work together but how long will the partnership between the two last in the heat of battle against Indio and his group of 14 Bandits?

For A Few Dollars More, to me is just as brilliant as the first film, Leone's direction doesn't fail to impressive a second time around with a photographers knack for composition in each shot. Eastwood again is still bloody awesome as "the man with no name" with his rugged charm, cigar chomping, and aggressive personality but this time it's balanced out in this film by Lee Van Cleef's character Colonel Mortimer who is older, a bit more wiser but just as entertaining to view. And of course Ennio Morricone's brilliant score creates brilliant tension and atmosphere in each shot of this film. Like A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More is more classic Spaghetti Western action that holds up for the pictures age. Rating: another easy 80%, which is on par with the original.
