Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Will H — 08 May 2011
This pretty much cements the Dollars Trilogy as one of my favorite film series. It does what a good sequel should, it gives you a longer, darker, more detailed story. A more twisted villain, and a new hero that adds a interesting dynamic to the story.
Lee Van Cleefs character was, to me, the most interesting part of the movie. Sergio Leone has a way of making the first 75% of these movies good, yet somewhat bland, but his endings always blow me away despite the fact that everyone knows the bad guy is gonna get his at the end.
The man knows how to set up a shoot out.
