Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Jake K — 23 May 2011
This is actually my personal favorite film of the trilogy. Everything about it is so iconic. The film is overlooked because it is the middle film, but I feel like it deserves more recognition. The ending gun fight alone is worth watching the entire film for.
The cast is fantastic from Clint Eastwood to Gian Maria Volontà (C), and even a young Klaus Kinski pops in to say hello. The standout however is Lee Van Cleef's Colonel Mortimer. His characterization of The Man in Black is brilliant.
The final revelation at the end, which involves his character and ties up a major plot point, gives me chills each time I see it.
