I find myself becoming more of a sucker for spaghetti westerns with each subsequent film. Sergio Leone's second part in his "Dollars Trilogy" follows two bounty "killers" as they attempt to infiltrate a gang of outlaws who, in turn, are trying to pull off a big bank robbery.

I went into the movie blind so I didn't know what to expect. Naturally I had a blast. Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef just ooze confidence and sheer awesomeness. I found myself waiting in earnest for each scene that they had together.

Along with having these two western powerhouses, other Sergio Leone regular Gian Maria Volonte makes yet another appearance. His character is much better in this film than in A Fistful of Dollars in my opinion.

The gunplay is as impressive as ever and, at times, kinda played for laughs. One scene in particular involving just Eastwood and Van Cleef had me chuckling to myself quite a bit. Also, in keeping with the fantastic soundtrack of the first film, Ennio Morricone makes another awe-inspiring soundtrack.

The films with his soundtracks are always better for them and this one is no different. It adds the perfect amount of tension, bravado, and even comedy at times. I would have to say that this is pretty close to taking the top spot of the trilogy for me.
