Kevin Bacon carries this otherwise ridiculous musical about a town that doesn't allow dancing. The premise is absurd but the cast does a fine job at allowing the social issue to take a back seat to human characteristics.
Bacon shows why he would quickly become a Hollywood star with his strong performance in a cheesy role.
