Review of Footlight Parade (1933) by Gregory S — 01 Aug 2008
One of the most all around satisfying movies I've ever viewed. Cagney is watchable in anything and here he is at the top of his game and having the time of his life. It's one of the best musicals to deal with the complications that arise within the industry in fact it is brave enough to to not stage a complete numbers until the end but whne they do they're possibly the greatest ever put on film.
But I think the best part is how much raunchy material that got by in pre code hollywood.Beautiful film.
