Director Andy Tennant, who also did Hitch, returns with somewhat of a dud, a sinking ship if you will. Puns aside this little romantic comedy turns into an almost 2 hour long mess filled with confusing and just plain weird characters along with spotty plot details.

Now kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey have done the whole romantic comedy song and dance before in How to lose a guy in 10 days...and I might go as far to say I actually enjoyed that one, but somehow the chemistry here is scrambled and pretty much ruined from the start.

I do give the writers props for not just making it a guy meets girl, guy loses girl, guy gets girl cliche story, but rather shows us that they were infact married, and now are attempting to get divorced.

As you probably know, the plot revolves around a large amount of lost Spanish gold somewhere in paradise, and of course McConaughey isn't the only one looking for it. Donald Sutherland costars as probably the weirdest characters, a millionaire with a very bizarre British accent and a Paris Hilton like daughter- who is follows in her father's outlandish screen appearance as a bimbo with no redeeming qualities.

The movie does get some good laughs here in there, but then there is some over abundance of violence that makes us feel as though we aren't watching a romantic comedy but a bad 90's action flick.

.. this film just doesn't know what it is. If you want a romantic comedy, go see Juno, it kind of is, or dare I say 27 Dresses which after this, is looking a whole lot better. If you want action, go see National Treasure or something.

Stay clear of this ship wreck.
