Review of Foodfight! (2012) by François L — 11 Dec 2013
Even with a $45 Million budget, two years to negotiate contracts to include as many product mascots as possible, paired with the unfortunate fact that this film was "stolen" and was hardly mentioned until it was re-surfaced and distributed back in 2011, giving the animators, director and the writers plenty of time to re-write scripts, change details and even re-work the animation to make it appear less like a computer game.
Foodfight! is a farcry from being "The next-generation Pixar." Honestly, even back then, had it been released when it was supposed to be, it wouldn't have held a candle to Pixar or Dreamworks.
This film is just a meager attempt to advertise a plethora of mascots. This film contains a wazoo of gross humor, grotesque character designs, models and animation; plotholes; lackluster attempts at comedy relief; and, above all, a waste of star-talent.
The celebrity voice talents like Charlie Sheen, Wayne Brady, Christopher Lloyd, Eva Longoria and Hilary Duff are completely wasted by the above elements of this film. Not worth your time. Unless, of course, you like to mentally torture yourself with horrid films.
In that case, knock yourself out and pick up a copy.
