Before you ask why I'm doing a movie review on this? A few of my friends were talking about this movie as soon as we've watched the newest video from JohnTron (Youtube) and his latest video was his own review on the movie Foodfight. Never even heard of this movie until now and thought I'd post a review on it.

When you watch the first 10 minutes of this you do wonder what the heck you are watching, like Toy Story when no one is around all toys come to life; however in Foodfight takes place in the supermarket at night after everyone has left. The grocery store transforms into a city, and from every door of this city. And we are thrown into a very cheesy opening song about their world and you do see well-known brands in this movie like Charlie the Tuna, Twinkie the Kid, Mr Clean and Mrs Butterworth; we come to the main story around our hero Dex Dogtective (Charlie Sheen) who has solved many crime cases in their city, Dex also has a special sweetheart named Sunshine Goodness (Hilary Duff) and Dex wants to ask that special question on marrying him. And asks his best friend and side-kick Daredevil Dan (Wayne Brady) on becoming his best man for the wedding, but a few hours later Sunshine Goodness goes missing and no one knows where she went.

This is where the story-plot starts to go insane and feels like the film has been written by a nine year old, Dex throws in the towel on being a detective and turns the Copa-Banana into a night-club. A new product comes in to the store called Brand X which moves into town, and Lady X (Eva Longoria) and her minions try to take over their world, Dex and Daredevil Dan go on another case once more to see who is behind this Brand X and what has happened to other brands after they disappear.

This film was supposed to be released back in late 2002-early 2003 but it got reported that hard drives containing film files had been stolen in what he called an act of "industrial espionage". A release date in 2005 was later announced, but missed. Another distribution deal was struck in 2007 than it finally got released sometime in 2012 and did not do very well in cinemas and then got released on DVD.

After watching the whole film had a lot of really bad and outdated puns in the whole film, even the animation looked a little weak making it feel that it could have been better if this released as a PS1 game if this was made or released back in the mid-90's if you compare the animation to this and a few PS1 games that were released back in 1996-1998 you may get the idea that move might have been a better suggestion.

Some of the scenes really did drag quite a bit and when it came to the fight between the brands and Brand X they kept using the same scenes over and over at different angles, there were a few scenes that made you think how on earth did they get away with this in an animated film. Like I've just said this film would have been better off not being made or at least have some kind of time machine to go back and time and release it to an early point where CGI animation wasn't that huge just yet.

If you want to watch this movie for yourself you can easily find this on Youtube or in a bargain bin in your supermarket just make sure you don't see any brands popping out of the shelves walking around.
