Review of Food Matters (2010) by Phoebe S — 23 May 2011
I've watched many food documentaries in the last few years, many of which seem to have a political subtext. "Food Matters" presents a progressive, alternative way of eating which ostensibly will make our bodies healthier and keep us from getting sick.
Arguments are scientifically compelling, not talking points from some left wing radical's personal political agenda. We learn that eating healthy, though sometimes expensive, is actually cheaper--in the long run--than falling prey to the mainstream medical and pharmaceutical industries.
Because it is cheaper to eat this way, these industries won't profit from the illnesses of the public. As such, they have little financial incentive to promote such behavior. Further, physicians are largely untrained in areas of nutrition and alternative, organic remedies.
While one might accuse any such documentary as having the ring of conspiracy, we do ourselves potential harm if we don't carefully listen to what people like Andrew W. Saul, Ph. D., and Dr. Dan Rogers have to say.
