Review of Food, Inc. (2008) by Andrew M — 26 Nov 2010
One of the best documentaries I've seen in my life. It has an extremely interesting subject and an extremely interesting point on the subject. They expressed so much detail and so many mini-subjects and they hardly went over the 90 minute mark.
The interviewees couldn't have been better; they were all professionals and were very interesting. Usually you can sense when a narrator is doing something wrong, like trying to be too dramatic or sarcastic or something, but the writing of this movie was phenomenal. You felt like your eyes were locked on to the screen when you were watching it, and this is a documentary, not many documentaries can make you feel that way.
I think that the 2008-2009 documentary season has surpassed any other year of documentaries, because "The Cove" actually beat "Food Inc." in the best documentary at "The Oscars". Honestly, I can't decide between the two. For me it's a dead tie, they are both great movies.
