Review of Food, Inc. (2008) by Aaron M — 21 Apr 2011
This is another doc that really makes you rub your eyes and take a sharper look at what is happening in the world around you, and take stock of how it is affecting you on a daily basis. As usual, corporate greed for the cheap and easy way is poisoning our society.
..on this particular topic, quite literally. Definitely makes you think really, really hard about your eating and shopping habits and the choices you could (should?) be making. It's so hard to feel like you can affect change against things like this that are just piled up so incredibly high against us, (in both dollars, and in Congressional lobbying) however, I love their point at the end of the doc where they parallel the tobacco industry, and how at one time it appeared insurmountable.
Fantastic point. Clearly, it's time to take drastic steps to affect that kind of change again. Our health depends on it. Definitely another important doc that is worth your time. A word of caution to animal lovers.
...there are a couple scenes that might unsettle you. But you can't , and shouldn't want to, hide from the truth.
