Review of Food, Inc. (2008) by Stamatios M — 09 Sep 2011
Revealing and shocking. Not only from the consumers' standpoint (I don't think I'll eat another burger at a fast-food restaurant any time soon), but also from an economical and environmental perspective.
Mostly based on Eric Schlosser's excellent research on the food industry in the US, Food Inc. is a great example of what a proper documentary should be: truthful, informative and thought-provoking.
Once again through the mechanisms of capitalism, the race for cheap food has given rise to corporate greed, political corruption and the exploitation of entire social groups. The movie paints a horrific picture of the state of the industry for the most part, but it thankfully ends on a bright note and plenty of practical advise for the viewers.
My advise to you is to watch Food Inc.
