Review of Food, Inc. (2008) by Hussain A — 07 Dec 2011
If you care at all about our United States of America, you should see this film. I thought it was going to be a bunch of anti-meat vitriol, focused on slaughterhouse practices (and I put off watching it for weeks because I just didn't want to see that), but it's really about big business taking over every aspect of our food.
Slaughterhouses that CANNOT be shut down no matter how many e coli breakouts they inflict upon us! 1.5 million (!) farmers in Mexico put out of work after NAFTA, because or OUR corn subsidies!! Farmers being forced into GMO seeds, or out of business by Monsanto! Chicken farmers who have no control over their own businesses because they are so deeply in debt to the company.
Buy local, buy organic, people. This has got to stop.
