Review of Food, Inc. (2008) by Chris F — 26 Dec 2011
It was kind of a disturbing movie - and, it makes me glad i'm in Canada, where our food is tested, and - to an extent, know where it comes from. However, this movie does give ya an idea on what the U.
S. is like, and, granted, probably what SOME of Canada is like. It DOES strike a message....Buy LOCAL, Organic, KNOW what's in your food! Buy what's in SEASON - and, not something that's modified.
The real message here is that REAL food DOES cost more to make.....but, we as consumers make that choice every time we go to the store, and buy. One farmer really summed it up well "If you want $2 milk, then you're gonna get a feedlot in the backyard, it's that simple.
" But, if we DEMAND change, we can GET IT! We have to DEMAND Good, Wholesome food - and, in return, we WILL get it....But, it's up to Us. We saw the Tobacco companies take a stronghold, and then, came tumbling down.
If we do what we've done lobbying against that kinda stuff, we CAN CHANGE the food supply!
