Review of Foo Fighters: Back and Forth (2011) by Ian G — 08 Aug 2011
A well timed doc tracking the history of the Foo Fighters as well as a lot of attention spent on front man/band driver David Grohl and his musical legacy with the impending 29th anniversary of Nevermind is open us from his previous life as Nirvana's drummer and to mark the release of the bands latest album which also is the first time Dave has played with Kris Noveselic since Nirvana's untimely break up.
Very informative and well thought out/put together, and acts as a love letter to the band but would have been put up to 11 if the filmmaker explored Dave's increasing need to control every aspect of the songwritting process for the group along with Pat Smears on and off relationship with the band.
Solid but just short of great.
