Review of Following (1999) by Alyssa N — 13 Jul 2009
This modern noir thriller is Christopher Nolan's first full-length film, and definitely worth watching, especially if you're a fan of his big-budget work and want to see what he can accomplish without all the fancy effects.
The initial premise is interesting enough, but then there are plenty of little twists and turns, including a major twist at the end that changes your perspective of the entire film, and which I never saw coming despite the foreshadowing.
Even though it's a little slow at first, and a little messy throughout, once the plot and suspense begin to thicken it will grab you.
