Review of Following (1999) by Carlos C — 29 May 2010
Strictly filming on the weekends with only six thousand dollars while working full time, Christopher Nolan creates and incredible film debut with "Following". Forget the fact that he had very limited resources, none of that even matters because this could be a multi million dollar studio film and it would still be as good and not just an "okay for what he had to work with" film.
It is the first we see of Nolan's love of narrative techniques that aren't in chronological order and aren't the norm for most mainstream movie go-ers. But that is exactly what makes the film is the non-linear narrative.
Jam packed with great dialogue, interesting characters and a thrilling twist, "Following" is a great work from even greater director Christopher Nolan that everyone should see especially fans of his critically acclaimed psychological thriller "Memento".
