Review of Following (1999) by Aj S — 28 Jun 2010
Chris Nolan's first film, a student film if you wanna call it that, about a writer who follows people and writes what he's observed about them. One day, he follows a man by the name of Cobb, a burgular who has ethics about who he robs.
However, Cobb is not what he seems, and the writer is now caught in a tricky game about who to trust, and who's playing who. Brilliant camera work by Nolan on a 16mm, with haunting a score makes this little indie thriller a winner, however, the movie is way too short and that's the only thing that keeps it from being terrific, it left me wanting more, but it does have a terrific plot twist, which is a great cinematic trait by Nolan.
..his plot twists are AMAZING.
