Review of Following (1999) by Davey M — 20 Jan 2011
Starts off strongly, but once it veers from the philosophic naturalism/black-and-white tone poem/character study into the realm of genre things (as is too frequently the case with Nolan) get very silly very fast.
Still, the acting is incredibly strong for a $6,000 film, and, shot on the fly on grainy black-and-white film with lots of natural light, this may actually be Nolan's strongest film visually.
