Review of Following (1999) by Neil S — 26 Feb 2011
The film that Chris Nolan made for about £8,000 whilst at university (would that even cover a day's shooting for Inception??!?), it's a story presented in a non-linear fashion exploring the relationship between a writer and the thief he starts following.
It's pretty entertaining, though the structure is a bit unecessary, seemingly done because the twist occurs fairly early in the story chronologically but has more impact presented later in the film (one of the traits similar to Memento).
