Review of Following (1999) by Nick L — 16 Mar 2011
This is exactly what you would think Nolan's first movie would be like. It brings up a lot of interesting scenarios and ideas, but it gets bogged down by unnecessarily telling the story out of order.
Nolan would perfect this technique in Memento, but it makes sense in that movie. Here it doesn't seem to serve the story or the characters and just makes it unnecessarily confusing. Also, the 8 million plot twists seem a little far fetched.
Still, a pretty decent flick that definitely foreshadows movies like Memento and Inception.
