Review of Following (1999) by Brett B — 05 Aug 2012
From the jump, this low budget thriller is a very confident debut from Christopher Nolan, and it fits right in with the kind of psychological and intellectual motifs that crop up in his later work. He employs a non-linear structure that works extremely well (heightening the sense of tension and edginess), and the (terrific) premise is executed in a compelling fashion, something that is a result of both Nolan's writing/direction and the convincing lead performances.
