Review of Following (1999) by Zachary C — 12 Oct 2012
This movie is actually not half-bad. The one thing that I try to look for in movies is when the characters share or say something about you (the audience) that you kind of already knew but it's explained in more detail. For instance: There's a scene in this movie where Bill and Cobb break into someone's house and Cobb says that everyone has a box. A box full of things that only they think is important because it's sentimental. We keep it hoping nobody will find it, but in the back of our minds we are hoping someone will find it and look through it. It's the same thing with a diary.
There are two things I really liked about this movie:
1. Even though it was really short it got it's point across. That it is incredibly admirable about Christopher Nolan.
2. It had a very original concept and it was pulled off beautifully.
