Christopher Nolan is a big fan of twisty, nonlinear storytelling: although it pales in comparison to his sophomore effort, Memento, Nolan demonstrates his cinematic talent at a very young age here, specifically his ability to elicit remarkable performances from his actors.
A fine little low-budget debut: who knew he would make The Dark Knight ten years later?
